A Slavic workshop of stylists and photographers called Treti Pivni (translates as Third Rooster) have decided to bring back one of the more amazing Ukranian traditions.
They’ve produced a serie of portraits of modern Ukranian women dressed in traditional Ukranian floral headdresses.
According to the tradition, these headdresses were worn by young, unmarried women to show their “purity” and marital eligibility.
The artists are using them as a reminder of Ukrainian identity. With continuing political and actual physical pressure from Russia, the country faces serious threats to its integrity and unity is needed more than ever and needs some tenderness
