NEW PERLA IN PARIS
The Italian lingerie brand La Perla has unveiled its new, revamped Parisian space on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The 2,500-ft2 space covers two floors, with an area specifically set aside for men’s underwear. This year, the brand unveiled its very first men’s loungewear collection on the catwalks of Pitti Uomo in Florence.
Italian architecture predominates throughout Baciocchi’s design for La Perla. References to the work of Carlo Scarpa from the Castelvecchio Museum in Verona are found in the soft colored walls covered with painted fabric and in the display cases within the store. The color palette plays on the minimalism of the Portuguese marble slabs. The arch, a distinctive element of Italian art, is also very present—especially as regards windows.
The opening of the Parisian flagship is part of a wider plan to revive the Italian label since its acquisition by holding company Pacific Global Continue reading

PIN-UP KIM
By photographying her naked body, Kim Kardashian does not look for the buzz but for the recognition of her own ego in reinventing the Pin-up of the 1950’s. By reproducing and copying old ideas to be published in fashion magazines, she makes a fool of the fashion world.
The fashion Designers have no interest to work with starlets like the French Kardarshian, Nabilla because it does not bring them any added value to the public. Noone is fooled and thinks Ms X or Ms Y enjoys wearing a dress of Haute Couture as often those clothes are uncomfortable and awkward to wear.
The brands carry on broadcasting disinformation about their products. Kim mimes the Pin-up Marilyn Monroe. Although it is a pale imitation of the beautiful women who wanted to shine as a star and among the famous people to finally died in a poor hotel.
Kim Kardashian dreams about being the muse of a fashion designer like Continue reading

LADIES LEATHER FASHION
What is the common point between the fall-winter ready-to-wear collections for 2014-2015 from Anthony Vaccarello, Balenciaga, Balmain, Blumarine, Cedric Charlier, DKNY, Gucci, Guy Laroche, Jason Wu, Lanvin and Moschino ? All these brands rely on leather. On perfectos, dresses, skirts, belts, pants, chest protectors, Teddys, the skin is everywhere. It is used in super-soft variations, or can be rigid and sculptural. Leather means a return to natural materials and to manual labor from the past. It is combined with other materials such as fur, wool, big zips, cotton, cashmere and velvet.
On the whole, for this season, those designers have ignored print, except some Continue reading
H 2OBVIOUSLY FAMOUS
Since the dawn of time, crystals have fascinated man. They have been associated to symbolic meaning and healing properties. Crystals are from a molten rock, it is the heat in the heart of the earth and that was the theme “On Aura Tout Vu” chose for their 2015 collection.
Livia and Yassen took us beyond the galaxy, in a cold and on a crystallized earth, but the suns that produce photosynthesis are not far away. It is the door of their universe waiting to melt their crystals into glamorous dresses for WonderWoman like Livia. The symbolism of water and rock crystal is Continue reading
FRANCK SORBIER
Candles were burning. In the air there was the scent of burning wax. You had the feeling to be in the XIX century at the time of what was called “La Belle Epoque”. They had recreated the atmosphere of a boudoir. In the flickering light, the set looked like the bohemian curio salon, where poets like Rimbaud, Verlaine, Musset and so many others were debating and redesigning the world – and occasionally indulge in absinthe. French singer Emilie Simon opened the show with the song “Paris, j’ai pris perpète”.
The presentation started and the collection as usual was mastered Haute Couture. The dresses were part of the atmosphere and vice versa. That was the dream of Franck Sorbier this season. In the red carpet between reality Stars and Chinese clients, the collection looks like a painting. My neighbor found it so romantic and so poetic.
The Violoncellist was continuing to play and invited us to travel in Franck Sorbier’s world Continue reading
