International Herald Tribune Heritage Luxury Conference - Day 2
Today, the Annual General Meeting of the French Fashion Federation, Haute Couture, Ready-To-Wear and Designers announced that the actual President, Didier Grumbach, will not be renewed as President of the Federation.

Mr Stéphane Wargnier was appointed as the new Executive President. We congratulate him and wish him a successful presidency. We hope that he will better understand the significant role of the Key Opinion Leaders in the fashion industry.

AMERICAN, PLEASE KEEP RALF

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (Cfda) announced the nominees and honorees for the 2014 Cfda fashion awards. The International award will go to Raf Simons for his creative contribution to the international fashion stage.

The nominees for Womenswear designer of the year award are Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarraand Marc Jacobs. For the Menswear designer of the year nominees are: Maxwell Osborne & Dao-Yi Chow for Public School, Marcus Wainwright & David Neville for Rag & Bone, and Thom Browne.

And for Accessories designer of the year award the nominees are Alexander Wang, Lazaro Hernandez & Jack McCullough for Proenza Schouler, and Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Olsen for The Row.

CHLOE GLAMOUR ATTITUDE CHIC

The soft and relaxed attitude of the Chloe woman has a touch of untamed for the label’s Fall-Winter 2014 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week. The creative director, Clare Waight Keller, sent out the house’s signatures – a parade of easy, tomboyish separates for the Autumn season in a mix of neutrals and pastels.

However, the look is emboldened with luxe multi-colored furs and ruffle embellishments for a sense of surprise in the Chloe woman’s wardrobe.

Elsewhere, dresses and skirts are decorated with raised geometric gold emblems while funnel neckline jackets bring a sporty mood.

chloe3The story was, once again, about texture, with some intriguing double-faced wools. Although this designer, who cut her fashion teeth on knitting, might have extended Chloé’s knit repertoire. Ms. Waight Keller is getting a freer sense of the Chloé style, and that is to be applauded.

CARNAVALET

The Carnavalet museum exhibits the original story of Alice Alleaume, the first saleswomen of the parisian fashion house « Chéruit ». The museum is inspired by the atmosphere of the largest houses of the parisian fashion from the « Belle Epoque » to the 1930’s and tries to tell us the mythic world of the Luxe and of the Haute Couture which made Paris the fashion capital.

You can discover dresses, accessories, samples of textiles that alongside paintings, estampes and photos discovering a luxuous and fantazised world. The exhibition tells you the story of Alice Alleaume’s life which starts in London, then in France in several parisian fashion houses from Doucet, Morin§Blossiet to Diemert before entering at Chéruit where she spent most of her career (1912-1923). WELCOME BACK Mr CHRISTIAN DIOR

Next to me, there was a Japanese wearing a Fournié’s dress of last year collection. Photographers, throughout the show and even after did not stop shooting her. What could be more flattering than to see a client dressed by her favorite designer! She was so glamour.

The show started with a slow and majestic long music. Lesage silks, chiffon and embroidery are legion. The dominant colors, silver and green water really contrast with the collection of the last year. The style Dior chiffon dresses embellished with large zippers in the back is the hallmark of the brand Fournié. Continue reading
