There is a new leader at Converse. The Nike-owned company has named Jared Carver president and chief executive officer. Carver’s promotion is part of Nike’s leadership realignment last week. He succeeds G. Scott Uzzell, who was named vice president/general manager for North America of Nike.
Carver most recently served as vice president and general manager of North America. Nike Inc. president and CEO John Donahoe will be Carver’s boss.
In 2003, Nike purchased Converse for $315 million. Recently, it partnered with dozens of individuals and brands on collaborative products, including Rick Owens, Samuel Ross of A-Cold-Wall, and Comme des Garçons.
