ON AURA TOUT VU

ONAURATOUTVUCANALON AURA TOUT VU loves to distort Haute Couture, fashion and glam. This season, in a spray of sequins and preciosity and magical crystals, the spirit of the designers “On Aura Tout Vu” “re-dress” our daily life, showing us new facets, giving it sparkle, and offering it back to us a shiny precious and rafinated collection.

All lines travel around the same spirit of distortion and fantasia, a desire to play with fabrics, objects, light, colors, so that true and false are always mingling….

And what if the false were true? said the Queen as she delved into the looking glass, because in the wonderful land truth is the only hazard of beauty. Reminding us how the realm of beauty has games of its own like pleasure and seduction.

At the end the model wears on her breast ‘stop violence just dance’, which sent a subliminal message to the French Fashion Federation who fired them for any raison this year. Everybody knows that the Federation does not award talented fashion designers, but only their friends.

RALPH & RUSSO

Ralph and Russo Couture Spring Summer 2015 ParisImmortalised in Botticelli’s Primavera and Poussin ‘s Realm of Flora, the Goddess of Spring is celebrated by Ralph & Russo in a magistic collection that  symbolises nature’s regenerative powers. For Spring/Summer 2015, the Ralph & Russo woman is an exultant deity, whose gifts lend themselves to delight.

Ralph & Russo enlist floral metamorphic myths as allegories of this collection. Alluring and fertile, the flower thematizes Haute Couture as its most abundant.

The collection also alludes to balletic exuberance. Sheaths of organza caress the body tenderly, and voluminous cloud-like gazar contrasts with fluid chiffons. Nyctinastic capes in jet balck and midnight blue cocoon the body, fending off the night’s nectar thieves. Continue reading

FRANCK SORBIER

Frank Sorbier Couture Spring Summer 2015 Paris
Franck Sorbier’s wound due to the death of their “Love bird” is like an indelible mark of their friend of 14 years old. At first, the feelings are like anesthetized but very quickly, the creation comes as a fulgurance.

The Master Franck Sorbier took us into a cloud of bubbles to remember. Tribute to the little black dress of Haute Couture, symbolizing mourning but also the memory of what was Haute Couture.

Beautiful Memories are also the quintessence of fashion. And as Camus used to say, “the way you name things, can add to the misery of the world.” Is not it, Mr. Wargnier?

Franck’s heart intelligence equaled that of his mind, whose creations, such as commitments in life, makes the brilliance of his soul as much as questions in this world.

Thank you sir.

ATELIER GUSTAVO LINS

Atelier Gustavolins Couture Spring Summer 2015 Paris
Gustavo Lins’ Haute Couture collection titled “Amazon.” Lins comes from architecture, having veered away from this early passion in favor of design, and his obsession with structure has formed his entire body of work. He opens a stunning new shop in the heart of Paris, not far from his atelier.

From this new collection emanates aa profound simplicity thanks to these uncluttered silhouettes cut from the noblest materials: cashmere, silk, leathers. But in letting go, the designer has perhaps struck alchemical gold in the form of a collection that recalls traditional couture, with a deep sense of timelessness.

To note that the management of the French Fashion Federation was seated on the 3rd row !!! It reminds us that last year at the “On Aura Tout Vu” show, they also were at the third row and this year they have been fired.

Unless Mr Wargnier he is looking for a new architect for his new house?

FABULOUS MARNI

MARNI2015Launched in 1994, Marni is a luxury brand favored by a discerning coterie of international women who are curious and sophisticated: not necessarily fashion-driven, but with a strong identity and a personal vision. The Marni woman is hard to pinpoint. Elusive and arty, she likes to play with forms, prints, textures and colors. Marni is in fact, essentially, a mindset: slightly out of the schemes and subtly subversive. It’s a quirky, unpredictable visual language: graphic, rigorous. Consuelo Castiglioni is the author.

The Swiss-born designer conveys her personal sense of elegance and experimental approach to materials and colors, her unique flair for mixing prints and shapes in collections that are at once irreverent and emotional, with an eclectic yet coherent Continue reading

MEN’S FASHION WEEK PARIS STARTS

MENSFASHIONWEEKMILANOIf the beard is an undeniable plugged, it is clear that his equivalent is the suit. Masculin and elegant, the suit has it all and we’re willing to bet that you will not say otherwise!

Cardigans and glee club blazers collection were geared toward the American golden boy. Yorkshire color palette of pine green, grey, Atlantic Ocean blue and burgundy, blazers and neckties, as well as high-waisted, pleated 1930’s inspired trousers that taper at the calf. Milano is allways the top of the top for the men’s fashion week, very smart, very chic and very italian, indeed.

As in many collections, blazers with rounded lapels and slim silhouettes were just as fitting for an italian businessman. As in the history of Continue reading

BURBERRY A BLANKET TURNOVER

BURREBERY
The brand’s monogrammed blanket ponchos that have really hit home, not only with street style photographers but also with customers.

That particular success was part of a solid, if geographically patchy, third quarter. For the three months leading up to December 31, Burberry brought in £604 million (about $917 million) in revenue, a 15 percent increase from the year before.

Its double-digit growth in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Africa was tempered somewhat by low single-digit gains in Hong Kong, which accounts for about 10 percent of global sales Burberry CFO Carol Fairweather said on the company’s quarterly earnings call.

DSQUARED2 WINTER 2015 MILAN

dsquaredCANALDean and Dan Caten (born Dean and Dan Catenacci) are twin brothers, fashion designers, founders and owners of DSQUARED2. In 1983, they moved to New York to study fashion at Parsons The New School for Design, but stayed for only one semester before returning to Toronto. In 1991, the brothers moved to Milan, Italy where they worked as designers for the house of Gianni Versace, and denim brand Diesel, the latter of which funded and launched their namesake brand. They debuted their men’s collection in 1994, and in 2003, they launched a women’s collection and a men’s underwear collection.

ARNAULT : 1 – PINAULT : 0

INTOTHESTORMIn the Bois de Boulogne, in the outskirts of Paris, Bernard Arnault, the Luxury French tycoon has asked Frank Gehry, the 85 year old American-Canadian architect to conceive a new Art and music place which will mark the LVMH empire.

Steel structure, its curved sails reaching into a windblown sky, iceberg in a forest, or boat in a city, is the vision of Frank Gehry combined to the one of Bernard Arnault. The president Francois holland said that it is the new “cathedral of light”, with its unique architecture.

From a democrate President, such a thought is quite amazing. However we can only congratulate Bernard Arnault for having been able to build such a monument where François Pinault failt.

GALLIANO / MARGIELA

GALLIANO100

The talented British designer is back, and he has chosen a white, minimal environment. At the front row you had Kate Moss and Anna Wintour, two faithful fashionistas, as well as designers like Alber Elbaz (Lanvin) and Christopher Bailey (Burberry). John Galliano presented this Haute couture collection of twenty models in a modern building in central London, with only hundred guests. In fashion, Galliano is like a chameleon. He is a genius.
