Having studied chemistry in Prague, the now London-based designer, Martina Spetlova, decided to continue her education at the prestigious Central St Martins. During her studies, she worked with Jeremy Scott and John Galliano whilst also setting up a woman’s artisan centre in Pakistan.
She won a number of awards including Chloe Textile Award, recipient of L’Oreal professional bursary, finalist of ITS9 and talent for White competition in Italy.
Any woman who appreciates craftamanship, high quality and who wants to stand out from the norm. My work has been described as unashamedly gaudy and sophisticated, which I quite like. I would describe my work as contrasting combinations of textures and colours. Solidifying her signature patchwork approach, Martina expertly mixes bold block colours of textiles and leather.
After 10 seasons, each season is still a fight for survival at the moment. In five years I want my label to be a well-known innovative brand. I want women wearing my jackets with pride.
